Music that RECLAIMs is delighted to announce Loreena McKennitt’s Spring tour. Ms. McKennitt, a pioneer in the music industry, established her independent label Quinlan Road long before iTunes, Spotify, Pandora etc left their mark on music distribution. In a recording career spanning more than three decades, Ms. McKennitt’s ‘eclectic Celtic’ music has received critical acclaim world-wide, and gold, platinum and multi-platinum sales awards in 15 countries across four continents. To date, she has sold over 14 million albums with a catalogue that includes seven studio recordings, three seasonal recordings, a live in-concert DVD and two DVD documentaries. She’s won two Junos, Canada’s premiere music award, and has performed for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Ms. McKennitt’s concerts are a rare blend of sound and story telling making them remarkably engaging for children and adults alike. Additionally Ms. McKennitt’s life long musical journey following her ancestor’s the “Celts” along the Silk Road and more recently the Irish as they emigrated to survive the potato famine, speak volumes to foster and displaced children trying to RECLAIM their lost heritage.
Ms. McKennitt is keenly aware of the unique “gateway” music represents for those searching for identity and connection and is delighted to be M-T-Rs inaugural artist.
